This course is for the pistol shooter would already has a basic knowledge of shooting and wishes to increase their skill set with the pistol. Topics include, drawing from the holster, strong & weak hand drawing, strong & weak hand shooting. reloading, malfunctions, multiple threats, shooting on the move, unusual firing positions, close quarter drills, point shooting, failure to stop drills& target discrimination, competition shooting.

Necessary Equipment: Notebook, pen and pencil, serviceable revolver or semiautomatic pistol, secure belt holster ( NO clip on) 2 extra magazine (minimum), 400 round of ammunition (factory) shooting glasses, ear protection, appropriate clothing for inclement weather (hot, cold, rain or snow), minimum 2 qt water container, sack lunch
Recommended Equipment: sunscreen, hydration system, hat, knee and elbow pads, hiking or tactical boots, pants with cargo pockets, tinted glasses, multi tool, range bag, thumb drive for class photos.

Is a National Rifle Association's program.
Offered to new shooters who own, plan to own or are just plain interested about handguns. This is a 3 hour course with hands-on training to safe and proper handling. Includes live shooting at the range.

NRA Basic Pistol Class
The NRA Basic Pistol course emphasizes the attitude, knowledge and skills necessary to safely handle a pistol/revolver. The course emphasizes safety and the basic fundamentals of shooting including grip, aiming, sight picture control, trigger squeeze and follow through. Students will learn how to identify different types of handguns and how each type functions. A supervised and coached live fire exercise ensures students properly grasp all learning objectives. Students will see a significant improvement between the first and last shot. The NRA Basic Pistol manual is provided and a certificate will be awarded upon successful completion of the live-fire section and a written examination.
